Quite happy with the report it seems to give us some good guidance for our side of the field aswell. In particular I;d like to call out the recommendation that NTIA examine the proposal under the COSO framework and gives the following examples: [cid:E9597E5F-8778-40EE-9E3B-EDB1D88D75AB] I think we should look at structuring some of our executive summary around these key points in an attempt to assist the NTIA in their evaluation process. -James From: <accountability-cross-community-bounces@icann.org<mailto:accountability-cross-community-bounces@icann.org>> on behalf of Thomas Rickert Date: Friday 18 September 2015 18:05 To: Accountability Cross Community Subject: [CCWG-ACCT] GAO report All, The General Accountability Office hast just published its report, which you can find here: http://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-15-642 Best, Thomas --- rickert.net<http://rickert.net>

Do you mean, identifying this analytical approach as something that must be listed as something to be taken up in WS2?

Just read it all. This is a pretty good report. This working group may want to consider grabbing some of its wording around the explanation for how the technical functions currently work and the multistakeholder process. It is very clear, cleanly worded and less focussed on process - meaning it is more understandable to people outside ICANN. The frameworks it identifies for the NTIA to use to assess the working group proposals - especially this accountability one - are also very useful and may be worth considering following or referencing by this group both because it is good practice and because it will simplify things for the NTIA.
