It's a good question that we didn't address in our call because it's good to know if those groups are going to be integrated and ACES is a large committee that encompasses capacity building, social networks, communications, etc. and we can focus on working in all those areas. Eduardo, hi! it seems to me that all these working groups were cancelled with cancelled the O&E Sub-committee that united them. ACES has a different focus of outreach, only 3 topics, as I remember. This Sub-committee doesn't replace OE at whole. If these WGs will be rebuilded inside, they will serve only 3 topics too (following the logic). Eduardo, this is surprising and a bit discouraging information for me. As you may recall, the OE sub-committee had the following areas of work: Capacity building for whole At-Large, communication strategy for whole At-Large, social media working group, At_large Outreach and Engagement plan for each year across all communication channels and global events. Can we did it wider - yes, but we covered everything and we were perfect. This OE Subcommittee was archived without notice, discussion and coordination with its leaders and participants. Regarding social media, ACES views it as one of the models to support a campaign. It is my understanding that the existing Social Media Working Group will now be incorporated into ACES' work but with a different direction. Social media will be considered one of the models (as outlined on page 12) used to support a campaign, likely in conjunction with other models like the phone tree model. The focus is no longer solely on supporting outreach efforts, but rather on supporting ACES campaigns, which are centered on engagement. According to the playbook (page 16), outreach efforts are now being delegated to the RALOs, as indicated in the side note. Lastly, the Capacity Building Subcommittee will become a subcommittee of ACES, as outlined on page 23. Its focus will be the development of materials for engagement, as needed. For example, for the identification campaign, it can create materials to broaden participation in position development discussions, like those happening in the CPWG. For amplification campaigns, it can develop materials for education, such as teaching end-users how to protect themselves from phishing attacks, or for advocacy, such as promoting Universal Acceptance. I will share the link to the charter so that anyone interested can provide feedback. These are good questions Ed and I appreciate you thinking about them. There are certainly other purposes for the social media WG so it’s possible that is NOT a perfect candidate to be under ACES but we should hash it out. As for capacity building, I had thought it might be under ACES as it might help to get more guidance on what sort of materials and such we would want to create for AL volunteers to use around the word at conferences and such, in addition to our ACES directed campaigns. I feel like I could be talked into either way.
