Dear All, As agreed during last months AFRALO teleconference, the AFRALO teleconference taking place on Wednesday, 2 September will discuss the draft AFRALO Bylaws. Version 2 of the draft AFRALO Bylaws have incorporated the previous comments that were submitted by Tijani and Fatimata. At-Large staff have developed a Version 3 of the draft AFRALO Bylaws that retains the majority of the provisions in Version 2, yet ensures the text is compliant with ICANN Bylaws. Please see both versions of the Bylaws here: https://st.icann.org/afralo/index.cgi?draft_afralo_bylaws_for_comments After discussion with Mohamed and Yaovi, in addition, At-Large staff have developed draft AFRALO Operating Principles that we would like AFRALO to consider adopting rather than the far longer and more complex draft Bylaws. Most of the other RALOs have operating principles and/or rules of procedure that are far more clear and concise. The draft AFRALO Operating Principles offer a less complex, operating structure consisting of a Chairperson, two Vice-Chairpersons and a Secretariat rather than adding another layer of a Board. We encourage you to consider adopting these more clear Operating Principles because we would not wish for your operations to be more complex than you really want.
