Dear Tijani, Thank you for your note reiterating AFRALO's concerns the timely acquisition of visas for Colombia so that representatives can participate in ICANN's 39th Meeting in Cartagena de Indias. I did pass these concerns on to a member of ICANN's Constituency Travel team immediately following the AFRLAO call. I have cc'd Constituency Travel to this reply so that they can reply directly to you concerning this travel-related issue. They should also be able to provide you with an update on the timetable for travel procedures related to Colombia. Getting a visa may require months. That's why they wish to see ICANN making the necessary arrangement with the host country authorities to make it easy and as fast as possible. They also wish that ICANN proceeds as soon as possible with the travel procedures so that participants can apply shortly for the visa with all the required documents to avoid complicated situations. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Tijani BEN JEMAA Executive Director Mediterranean Federation of Internet Associations Phone : + 216 70 825 231 Mobile : + 216 98 330 114 Fax : + 216 70 825 231 ------------------------------------------------------------------
