I have indeed contributed to awareness and engagement actions by organizing several webinars and trainings both face-to-face and virtual. I was one of the main organizers of the various General Assemblies of AFRALO (Dakar, London, Johannesburg), where we were able to bring together all the ALSes. Currently I am part of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Program Committee for the upcoming AFRALO GA on July 24th and 25th, 2023 in Accra . During my two terms as President and VC of AFRALO and thanks to the effort of all, we able to significantly increase the number of ALSes, and AFRALO now represents over 70 members from different countries on our continent. These ALSes are all working towards local human development through ICT. They represent a significant cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity which is the strength of our RALO and offers the end-users the opportunity to join. I am proud that my ALS organized two successful ICANN meetings (ICANN55 & ICANN65) on African soil in Marrakech. I continue to advocate for meetings to be held in different countries on the continent to boost African participation in their country in the future. I want to continue serving our community and working with AFRALO within ALAC to increase our continent's participation in ICANN, make our voice heard, and make AFRALO even better. Today, I have more time to work on other internet-related challenges on our continent, and it would be a great honor for me to do it as an ALAC member. Thank you to everyone who has always supported me. Aziz Hilali [FRANÇAIS] Déclaration Depuis 2010, je suis engagé dans AFRALO et j'ai manifesté cet engagement à travers de multiples actions au fil des années. J'ai notamment contribué à des actions de sensibilisation et d'engagement en organisant plusieurs webinaires et formations, tant en présentiel qu'en virtuel. J'ai joué un rôle majeur dans l'organisation des différentes Assemblées Générales d'AFRALO (Dakar, Londres, Johannesburg), qui ont réuni toutes les ALS. Actuellement, je fais partie du comité d'organisation et je préside le comité de programme de la prochaine Assemblée Générale, qui se tiendra les 24 et 25 juillet 2023 à Accra. Pendant mes deux mandats en tant que président et vice-président d'AFRALO, et grâce à l'effort de tous, nous avons considérablement augmenté le nombre d'ALS, qui compte désormais plus de 70 membres représentant différents pays de notre continent. Toutes ces ALS travaillent pour le développement humain local à travers les TIC et offrent une importante diversité culturelle, ethnique et linguistique, qui fait la force de notre RALO et permet aux utilisateurs finaux d'y adhérer. Aziz Hilali [English] BIOGRAPHY Abdelaziz (Aziz) Hilali is a Professor at the Moroccan Telecommunications Graduate Institution (INPT)(www.inpt.ac.ma). He graduated from the University of Grenoble, where he earned a PhD in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. He has published a large number of scientific papers and given a substantial number of oral presentations at international conferences. He is currently Deputy Director at INPT in charge of Relations with Companies operating in the Digital sector. Mr. HILALI was also the initiator and organizer of a large number of congresses and workshops in Internet Governance and Information Technology for the benefit of a large array and categories of people interested in Internet. He was also the organizer as Local Host of ICANN meeting 2016 and 2019 in Marrakech. Mr. HILALI was one of the main founders and currently Chair of ISOC Morocco, an NGO for the promotion of the Internet and its generalization in Morocco. ISOC MA is the first Moroccan chapter of the Internet Society in Africa and also an At-Large structure within ICANN. Since its creation, Mr. Hilali has organized and led several training seminars and workshops. He is also the founder and president of the Moroccan IPv6 Task Force created within Isoc Morocco. Aziz Hilali has been a member of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Committee (MAG) during the period 2009-2013. He is one of the founders and former president of the North Africa IGF (NAIGF), he participated in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and in the various meetings of the Internet Governance Forum. He has also served in Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) as Chair of de African Regional At-Large Organization (AFRALO), during the period 2012-2016, and as member of the ICANN Nominating Committee between 2018 and 2019. He is currently AFRALO Vice Chair and NAIGF MAG and Arab IGF member. Mr. Hilali also contributed to ICANN Academy by recording a course on Internet Governance (IG) of 8 sessions. This course is followed by several participants French-speaking. He is also lecturer of Internet governance at universities and Engineering Schools in Morocco and Mediterranean countries.
