Dear Colleagues, For the reunion of Nairobi, afralo has decided to organize a workshop awareness, information and training of members of SLA and other African civil society to increase their participation in various development processes of political hypothesis of ICANN. An exhibition will also be organized in parallel. To do this, a working group has been formed to address issues related to the preparation of workshop in Nairobi (format, content, funding, speakers, etc.). For funding, the task force has developed a project document has contact has instittutions national and international research sponsors who would provide support for members of different ALS. To help us very quickly to finalize the document which will be subject to target partners, not later than Thursday, January 21, we ask each SLA - To see national institutions that can support financial participation through a letter to ICANN (ALAC) - Provide the names of 2 people who follow them on behalf of the ALS sessions Capacity Building in Nairobi (in order of priority) - To request these 2 individuals to initiate the procedure for obtaining entry visa to Kenya We caution that these are only predictions and that if we fail to have the necessary funding, while the program could be compromised. It could also only one person per SLA can be funded. Pour la reunion de Nairobi, AFRALO a decide d'organiser un atelier de sensibilisation, d'information et de formation des membres des ALS et autres africains de la societe civile afin d'augmenter leur participation aux differents processus de developpement des politques d'ICANN. Une exposition sera egalement organisee en parallele. Pour ce faire, un groupe de travail a ete constitue pour faire face aux enjeux lies a la preparation de l'atelier de Nairobi (format, contenu, financement, intervenants, etc).
Pour le financement, le groupe de travail a elabore un document de projet a adresser a des instittutions nationales et internationales pour la recherche de sponsors qui assureraient la prise en charge des membres des differentes ALS. Pour nous permettre de finaliser tres rapidement le document qui devra etre soumis aux partenaires cibles, au plus tard le jeudi 21 Janvier, nous demandons a chaque ALS
- De voir à l’échelle nationale les institutions qui peuvent appuyer financièrement leur participation moyennant une lettre d’ICANN (ALAC) - De fournir les noms des 2 personnes qui suivront au nom de leur ALS les sessions de Capacity Building à Nairobi (par ordre de priorité) - De demander à ces 2 personnes d’entamer la procédure d’obtention de visa d’entrée au Kenya
Nous tenons a preciser que ce ne sont là que des prévisions, et que si nous n’arrivons pas à avoir le financement nécessaire, tout le programme pourrait etre compromis. Il se pourrait egalement qu’une seule personne par ALS puisse etre financée.
Nous comptons sur votre reponse diligente avant le Jeudi 21 Janvier 2010 pour nous temoigner de votre interet a participer en tant qu'ALS et fournir les informations demandees.
