Bonjour, Hello I support Draft ALAC statement as its without modification, the statement outlines the issue of transparancy and accountability of the processes related to ICM TLD application . I don't think we should support NARALO position and request ICANN to approve the TLD . Although personally i have some reservations regarding the TLD and its content, i think we should ensure any reservations dose not effect the TLD application process or decisions based on ICANN procedures . I support ALAC statement, not NARALO proposal . Regards, Mohamed On 4/24/10 2:34 PM, Secrétariat FMAI wrote:

Bonjour,

Good morning,
I read the statement proposed by Cheryl for ALAC, and I found it very good (fair and well balanced). I supported it on my own behalf. NARALO proposed that ALAC declaration should be clearly and directly in favour of the delegation of the “.xxx” string. I do think that for us as Africans, this issue doesn’t have a big importance. The development and the participation of our community in the ICANN process to impact the decisions made concerning Internet seems to me to be our most concern as AFRALO. I don’t think that it will be beneficial for us to be for or against the delegation of this string.
We are asked as AFRALO to comment Cheryl’s proposel:
<https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?statement_on_icm_application_for_the_xx x_stld> https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?statement_on_icm_application_for_the_xxx _stld
I propose that AFRALO supports it without modification.
If you want AFRALO to submit its own statement, we should do so very soon. The methodology we used before remains the best for me: someone prepares a draft and we finalize it together.
