We need Internet resource management in Africa,Universal Acceptance as a means of accessing the Internet in local languages, Improvement of African Participation in ICANN,Best Practices for DNS Operations in Africa, Domain Name System (DNS) Abuse, Universal Acceptance, evolving the ICANN Multistakeholder model, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), New gTLD Subsequent Procedures, enhancing ICANN accountability, *AI*, .... But we can not use them without a good internet connection. I would like to propose : *Internet exchange Point (IXP) in Africa* : What can we do to implement more in Africa? I am ready to explain the importance of IXP and why African countries have to use IXP to improve their connectivity rate. Thanks. As usual, we plan to hold the Joint AFRALO-AfrICANN meeting and as we are so close to the date of meeting, we would like to invite you to submit topics for this session.
For your information our previous statements have focused on issues like: Internet resource management in Africa,Universal Acceptance as a means of accessing the Internet in local languages, Improvement of African Participation in ICANN,Best Practices for DNS Operations in Africa, Domain Name System (DNS) Abuse, Universal Acceptance, evolving the ICANN Multistakeholder model, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), New gTLD Subsequent Procedures, enhancing ICANN accountability, etc. Please see our previous statements here

These wide ranges of topics mentioned above are given as examples of topics we have treated in the past. You are invited to suggest other topics for discussion at ICANN78.
As is the norm, the topic that receives the most support will be selected.
Please see our proposed timeline:
· 04 -17 January 2024: Call for topics and drafting team
· 18 January 2024: Announcement of Selected topic & drafting team composition
· 19 - 29 January 2024: First Draft of Statement
· 30 January - 9 February 2024: Second Draft of Statement
· 10 February 2024: sending to Staff + FR Statement translation
Kindly send your suggested topics and volunteer for drafting by Wednesday ,17 th of January 2024, after which the drafting team will be constituted to prepare a draft statement that will be shared with the rest of the members.
If you would like to join the drafting team, kindly notify us via the mailing list or to me directly off list.

Ce large éventail de thèmes mentionnés ci-dessus est donné à titre d'exemple.
Vous pouvez bien entendu suggérer d'autres sujets et comme c'est la norme, le sujet qui recevra le plus de soutien sera sélectionné.

· 04 - 17 Janvier 2024 : Appel à proposition des sujets/thèmes et de l’équipe de rédaction ;
· 18 Janvier 2024 : Annonce du sujet sélectionné et constitution de l'équipe de rédaction ;
· 19-29 Janvier 2024 : Premier projet (brouillon) de déclaration ;
· 30 Janvier au 09 Février 2024 :Deuxième ébauche de déclaration ;
· 10 Février 2024 : Envoi au personnel de l’ICANN pour la Traduction de la déclaration;
Veuillez envoyer vos suggestions de sujets et vous porter volontaire pour rejoindre l'équipe de la rédaction d'ici le Mercredi 17 Janvier 2024, après quoi l'équipe de rédaction sera constituée pour préparer un projet de déclaration qui sera partagé avec le reste des membres.
