Dear Members of AFRALO and the At-Large Staff, I proudly nominate myself, Dr. Jabhera Matogoro, for the AFRALO Secretary position in the 2024 Regional Selections category. My journey in both technical and administrative positions can be traced back to the 2011 AFNOG Meeting which was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and remained an active technical member to many other African Community. I was the ICANN54 Fellows and was appointed by ALAC/AFRALO to join the ICANN SSR2 Review Team which managed to submit the technical report to the ICANN Board. I have also served as an Interim Secretary for ISOC Tanzania Chapter and Manager for Dodoma Internet Exchange Point. Presently, I serve as the Founder and CEO of the Tanzania Community Networks Alliance and contribute as an active member of the AFRALO Community. My academic credentials include a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, and I hold a teaching position at the University of Dodoma in Tanzania. I believe that my extensive technical and administrative background uniquely qualifies me for the role of AFRALO Secretary. *Selection Schedule for ALAC Members, RALO Leadership, and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom:*
- 15 April 2024 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.* (Except for NARALO that requires a call for nominations 30 days: 28 March 2024). - 15 April – 26 April 2024 - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 10 working days). - 3 May 2024 - Deadline for nomination acceptances - 6 May 2024 - 9 May 2024- Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs. - 10 May - 24 May 2024 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline). - 2024 AGM [ ICANN81] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2024 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 14 November 2024.

The ALAC will determine how it will allocate these terms.
