This year will be my last term as AFRALO chair and I really thank you all for your continuous support during all these 2 terms. I will continue to work within AFRALO as an active member from 2014.
To continue the great work AFRALO is doing with younger members while keeping some experienced ones on board, I would like to make the following nominations:
1. Aziz as AFRALO Chair. Aziz has been a very hard working secretariat, keeping AFRALO at a very high level of reports delivery and has attended all the monthly meetings with valuable contributions. His term will finish in 2015. 2. Mohamed as AFRALO Vice Chair. He has been an excellent ALAC member after his great work as a Nom Com member. 3. Victor as AFRALO Secretary, he is one of the youngest members on board, he is bilingual, active in all our monthly meetings and I would suggest that we try him as Secretary to finish Aziz's term in case he gets elected as Chair. 4. Yaovi as ALAC member for a second term. He is doing great and improving every where within ALAC and AFRALO. He is an active participant in many ICANN work groups and contributes in all AFRALO monthly meetings

Dear AFRALO members,
On behalf of AFRALO's Chair, Fatimata Seye Sylla, we would like to announce the beginning of the nomination period for the AFRALO Regional Officer positions and the AFRALO ALAC representative. The nomination period shall start on June 3rd, 2013.
Note that this schedule synchronizes the Regional officers selection with the AFRALO ALAC Selection, which will allow for efficiency and better management of the election polls.
ALAC Selection Schedule for 2014 ALAC Representatives
3 June - ALAC Chair announces call for nominations and Statements of Interest
3 June - 14 June - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 2 weeks).
21 June - Deadline for nomination acceptances
28 June - 5 July - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).
8 July - RALO Chairs to inform ALAC Chair of Selection Results. ALAC Chair to inform NomCom Chair and Chair-Elect of ALAC Selection Results
2013 AGM [ 17th - 21st November ] - Newly elected ALAC representative shall be seated on the ALAC at the close of the 2013 AGM on Thursday, 21st November 2013.
AFRALO Chair: Currently held by Fatimata Seye-Sylle. Fatimata is not eligible for re-selection. The current term ends at the close of the 2013 AGM. The new term starts on Thursday, 21 November 2013 at the close of the AGM and ends at the close of the 2015 AGM.
AFRALO Vice Chair: Currently held by Tijani Ben Jemaa. Tijani is not eligible for re-selection. The current term ends at the close of the 2013 AGM. The new term starts on Thursday, 21 November 2013 at the close of the AGM and ends at the close of the 2015 AGM.
