Pour la reunion de Nairobi, AFRALO a decide d'organiser un atelier de sensibilisation, d'information et de formation des membres des ALS et autres africains de la societe civile afin d'augmenter leur participation aux differents processus de developpement des politques d'ICANN. Une exposition sera egalement organisee en parallele. Pour ce faire, un groupe de travail a ete constitue pour faire face aux enjeux lies a la preparation de l'atelier de Nairobi (format, contenu, financement, intervenants, etc).
Pour le financement, le groupe de travail a elabore un document de projet a adresser a des instittutions nationales et internationales pour la recherche de sponsors qui assureraient la prise en charge des membres des differentes ALS. Pour nous permettre de finaliser tres rapidement le document qui devra etre soumis aux partenaires cibles, au plus tard le jeudi 21 Janvier, nous demandons a chaque ALS
- De voir ? l??chelle nationale les institutions qui peuvent appuyer financi?rement leur participation moyennant une lettre d?ICANN (ALAC) - De fournir les noms des 2 personnes qui suivront au nom de leur ALS les sessions de Capacity Building ? Nairobi (par ordre de priorit?) - De demander ? ces 2 personnes d?entamer la proc?dure d?obtention de visa d?entr?e au Kenya

For the Nairobi ICANN meeting, AFRALO has decided to organize an outreach event including a showcase and Capacity building sessions for the members of African SLAes and other African civil society to increase their participation in various ICANN policy development processes. The showcase will be organized in parallel. To do this, a working group has been formed to address issues related to the preparation of this event in Nairobi (format, content, funding, speakers, etc.).
As for the funding, the Working Group has developed a draft document to be sent to national and international institutions that would provide support for the ALSes? members. To help us finalize quickly the document which will be submitted to target partners, you are kindly requested to do the following not later than Thursday, January 21:
- To see at the national level the institutions that can financially support your participation, making use of an ICANN (ALAC) request letter
- Provide the names of 2 people (in a priority order) who will follow the Capacity Building sessions in Nairobi
- To request these 2 individuals to initiate the procedure for obtaining entry visa to Kenya
It has to be clear that these are only previsions and that if we fail to have the necessary funding, the whole program could be compromised. Also, the number of funded persons per ALS could be decreased to only one for the same reason.
We look forward to your quick response before Thursday, January 21, 2010 to express your interest to participate as an ALS, and supply the requested information.
