I will like to support Beran Dondeh Gillen. She has played important roles in the ecosystem and deserves our support. One thing which strikes well for me is seeing our strong African women rise up to taking up leadership. She had taken some time off to focus on family issues and her professional life, but has been following At-Large work. She has also been involved in Internet Governance discussions, and particularly ICANN policy development for several years.
I worked with her in 2016 on the Community Onboarding Pilot Program, which was a mentorship-based program with an objective of improving engagement and retention of new participants within ICANN. This was from ICANN55 to ICANN60.
Outside ICANN, she is the CEO and Co-Founder of The Hub, a tech innovator hub in the Gambia.
I believe that the ALAC and AFRALO will benefit from her experience and expertise.

Au nom de la direction d'AFRALO, nous annonçons le début de l'appel à candidatures pour le poste de représentant intérimaire d'ALAC d'AFRALO qui est disponible en raison de la démission de Sarah Kiden. Il s'agit d'un poste intérimaire dont le mandat commence immédiatement après la sélection jusqu'à la fin de l'AGA 2024.
Calendrier de sélection AFRALO pour 2023
• 24 mai 2023 - Annonce de l'appel à candidatures et déclaration du candidat.
• 24 mai - 7 juin - Période de nomination (nominations acceptées pendant 10 jours ouvrables).
• 14 juin 2023 - Date limite d'acceptation des nominations
• 19 juin 2023 - 21 juin 2023 (à confirmer) - Appel avec les candidats si souhaité par AFRALO.
• 26 -30 juin 2023 - Élections (si nécessaire, les élections débuteront au plus tard une semaine après la date limite d'acceptation des candidatures et se termineront au plus tard deux semaines après cette date limite).
• 30 juin 2023 - Le membre de l'ALAC nouvellement élu sera assis immédiatement après sa sélection compte tenu du poste vacant.
Veuillez noter que les nominations, y compris les auto-nominations, doivent être faites directement à la liste afri-discuss@atlarge-lists.icann.org.
Tout abonné actuel à cette liste peut faire des nominations.
Les proposants doivent également publier la nomination directement sur l'espace de travail de sélection des représentants provisoires de l'ALAC AFRALO 2023, ou en envoyant un courrier au personnel d'At-Large.
