First and foremost, I express my sincere gratitude to Mohamed for nominating me, as well as to all who have supported my candidacy. I accept this nomination with gratitude and commit to serving diligently. Currently, I serve as the President of the Internet Governance Forum of Mauritius and work as the Business Development Manager for cybersecurity, managed services, and Advisory at Harel Mallac Technologies Ltd in Mauritius. My academic background includes an MBA from the University of Technology, Mauritius, and a postgraduate diploma in Business Management from the University of Surrey, UK. Additionally, I am graduated in Electronics from the University of Mauritius and hold a certificate in Telecommunications and Electronics from the City and Guilds of London Institute. As a dedicated member of civil society, I have actively participated in non-commercial initiatives within ICANN and the Internet Governance Forum. My efforts have always been directed towards advocating for the interests of end-users and the African community to which I proudly belong. Among my notable achievements, I mention the founding of the Internet Society of Mauritius in 2001 and assuming the presidency. Additionally, I have represented our community in various international forums such as the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), the NEPAD e-Africa Commission, and UNESCO's Information for All Programme (IFAP), among others. My involvement with ICANN dates back to 2004 when I joined the Non-Commercial Users Constituency (NCUC) as a representative for the African region. Subsequently, I was appointed to the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) by the NomCom in 2009. Throughout my tenure, I have actively contributed to ICANN by participating in committees, working groups, and various leadership roles, including serving on the ALAC Executive Committee and the ICANN NomCom in 2016 and 2017. Drawing from my extensive experience within ICANN, particularly as a former NomCom member, and my active involvement in its review processes, I am well-prepared to represent AFRALO as a NomCom delegate.
