I am not sure exactly where Yaovi comes from, but in the interest of regional balance, i would imagine if Mohamed is not able to come it would be right for him/us to nominate a person(s) from the same place (Sudan I believe). Or at least they should be on the list of nominees with first priority. Wonder what members think of this. As the Chair of the ALAC I would like to remind this list that ALAC representatives (that is the role Mohamed & Hawa hold with us on the Regions behalf are expected to represent the *whole* of AfRALO and the ALSes that constitute it... and the Nom Com appointment for the region (Dave) is to bring wider general and non ALS represented views to our table... so whomever you recommend will be called on by me to serve in that capacity and indeed should be someone active in your region and preferable one who has at least attended the At-Large Summit last year so they are familiar to the best extent possible with the expected role... That said just like who you appoint to BE your regional representative(s) on the ALAC the choice is up to the RALO... and the same performance criteria and attendance measures will apply to who ever goes as an ALAC sponsored traveler as applies to the whole of the ALAC and Regional Leaders supported by constituency travel funding... I don't care, regional balance isn't very important to me. Dear Hiedi, Arabic language is one of the UN official lnaguages, and its also a language which ICANN also translate document to, it will be great if AfRALO brochure is also translated to Arabic . Many Arabic speaking African and non african participant will attend Nairobi meeting. ICANN has resources and regional manager based in Egypt, am sure they can be able to achieve this .. It will be possible to use the travel funds allocated to Mohamed's participation for one additional AFRALO traveler. Dave, Only the Chairperson and the Vice chair have received ICANN travel support for Nairobi. This was a decision we came up with because we wanted the most active member of AfRALO board to support the Chairperson in the preparation of the Nairobi workshop. Now that we have the opportunity to support a third person, we recommend the AfRALO secretary (Didier) who will be in charge of the reporting activities among other things we might have to ask him to do for the Nairobi workshop. ________________________________________________________________________________ Dave, Seuls la Presidente et le Vice President recoivent l'appui d'ICANN pour Nairobi. Mohamed El Bashir nous a informé qu’il ne lui sera malheureusement pas possible de participer à la conférence de l’ICANN à Nairobi en mois de mars. Il est possible d’utiliser les fonds affectés à sa participation pour un voyageur supplémentaire d’AFRALO. L’ALAC demande à AFRALO par conséquent de soumettre le nom d’un remplacement jusqu’à lundi, le 1 février au Staff d’At-Large.

Mohamed El Bashir informed us that he is unfortunately unable to attend the ICANN Nairobi meeting in March. It will be possible to use the travel funds allocated to Mohamed’s participation for one additional AFRALO traveler. The ALAC therefore asks AFRALO to submit a name for a replacement for the Nairoi meeting to the At-Large Staff by Monday, February 1st.

Dave,
Only the Chairperson and the Vice chair have received ICANN travel support for Nairobi. This was a decision we came up with because we wanted the most active member of AfRALO board to support the Chairperson in the preparation of the Nairobi workshop.
Now that we have the opportunity to support a third person, we recommend the AfRALO secretary (Didier) who will be in charge of the reporting activities among other things we might have to ask him to do for the Nairobi workshop.

Seuls la Presidente et le Vice President recoivent l'appui d'ICANN pour Nairobi. Cette decision a ete prise parce que nous voulions avoir le membre du bureau d'AfRALO le plus actif pour appuyer la Presidente dans la preparation de l'atelier de Nairobi.
Maintenant que nous avons l'opportunity d'avoir un appui pour une 3eme perrsonne, nous recommandons le secretaire d'AfRALO (Didier) qui sera en charge de la redaction des rapports entre autres activites que nous pourrions lui demander d'assumer pour l'atelier de Nairobi.
