I would like to nominate another valuable candidate to the position of the ALAC delegate to the NomCom, who is Titi Akinsanmi. Titi Akinsanmi is Digital Policy expert who currently serves as Policy and Government Relations Lead for West and Francophone Africa at Google. Titi’s motto is to inspire, inform, involve and impact the world on issues around global internet and society, digital economy, policy and digital governance. With 19 years of experience, she has directly engaged with global policy development processes, built capacity and strategy, and is enabling the implementation of strategies as it relates to Internet governance and the digital economy. From making a case for the role and inclusion of youth globally who are primarily at the forefront of the digital ecosystem to helping governments shape the policy and regulatory environment as it relates to the role of intermediaries, content creation & sharing, data privacy and cybersecurity, Titi’s work requires intense interdisciplinarity. She is a key opinion shaper and connector in the area of Digital Public Policy in Africa and beyond with extensive cross-sectoral networks and know how on the digital economy in Africa – and in reverse how those with interest on the continent can and should position themselves to sustainably grow the Digital Economy. Dear Fellow AFRALO Community, Accepted everyone has a right to vote and be voted for in any election. But umpires to such process are meant to be neutral It is in the light of the above that my ALS Nurses Across the Borders opposes the nomination of Titi Akibsanmi by Dave. Please see the following link https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/AFRALO+VOTING+DELEGATE+to+the+No... Dave as a member of the selection committee should not have nominated Titi. As a result whatever the outcome should she be selected above others, will will adjudged unfair and partial. Secondly, I do not know under what banner Titi is contesting for this position. Is it as ALS member and what is the name of that ALS? Or as a registered individual member? When was she accepted..I am aware Titi was once a Nomcom member when she was sponsored by a respected member of this community but after her tenure, no one heard anything about Titi again in the development and promotion of AFRALO. It is curious to me for her to suddenly wake up from the blues to now want to contest with others who have been building AFRALO to its enviable position now I cannot deny her long list of resume but to what extent have those qualifications benefitted AFRALO these past 10 years?As a stickler to due process and fair play, Titi should challenge my position above with evidences of all she has done for or with AFRALO these past 10 years for the AFRALO secretariat to verify to us, before she could be considered. In all honesty Titi shouid go back to the basis and reestablish her involvement with AFRALO for a period before seeking any elective position in ICANN to represent us. That is our position. No offence meant but he who seeks equity must come with clean hands. Dave action is conflict of interest. Titi track records disqualifies her. Dave as a member of the selection committee should not have nominated Titi. As a result whatever the outcome should she be selected above others, will will adjudged unfair and partial. Secondly, I do not know under what banner Titi is contesting for this position. Is it as ALS member and what is the name of that ALS? Or as a registered individual member? When was she accepted.. I am aware Titi was once a Nomcom member when she was sponsored by a respected member of this community but after her tenure, no one heard anything about Titi again in the development and promotion of AFRALO.
It is curious to me for her to suddenly wake up from the blues to now want to contest with others who have been building AFRALO to its enviable position now I cannot deny her long list of resume but to what extent have those qualifications benefitted AFRALO these past 10 years? As a stickler to due process and fair play, Titi should challenge my position above with evidences of all she has done for or with AFRALO these past 10 years for the AFRALO secretariat to verify to us, before she could be considered. In all honesty Titi shouid go back to the basis and reestablish her involvement with AFRALO for a period before seeking any elective position in ICANN to represent us.

Dear All, The Nomcom representative selection committee has received 4 nominations, approved 2 nominations to proceed to the final voting stage after lengthy deliberation. One nomination was not selected for not meeting all the criteria requirements and another nomination was not selected due to a technical issue in the process and perceived conflict of the interest, to avoid it as a result Dave Kissoondoyal has resigned from the selection committee. Although it's a challenge to complete this process is this tight time frame, our goal was to ensure the integrity of the process, selecting candidates who meet ALAC criteria beside allowing the community to vote and select AfRALO Nomcom representative. I do agree with you re: CoI - so I am very much in support of following the rules on this 100%. In doing my reviews prior to acceptance I did miss due diligence on who did the nomination and if any CoI. So happy to step back - this does not in anyway prevent me from continuing to serve. I however against my typical behaviour raise my voice since you got quite personal - to the point of being insulting + personal assault on my credentials😎. However I cannot claim surprise - I have known you and your modus operandi for over 15 years now. Unlike many - I am a DOER, an Enabler committed to this work beyond visibility, meeting attendance or otherwise. If you have a genuine non-insultive interest on how I have and continue to consistently contribute to, support and enable the AFRALO community (secretariat inclusive) specifically and the African Internet community at large - I would be very happy to share and get your buy-in beyond words. Dear Pastor Peters, This email is written with due respect: none of which your email in its tone, use of words or form accords me. I do agree with you re: CoI - so I am very much in support of following the rules on this 100%. In doing my reviews prior to acceptance I did miss due diligence on who did the nomination and if any CoI. So happy to step back - this does not in anyway prevent me from continuing to serve. I however against my typical behaviour raise my voice since you got quite personal - to the point of being insulting + personal assault on my credentials😎. However I cannot claim surprise - I have known you and your modus operandi for over 15 years now. Unlike many - I am a DOER, an Enabler committed to this work beyond visibility, meeting attendance or otherwise. If you have a genuine non-insultive interest on how I have and continue to consistently contribute to, support and enable the AFRALO community (secretariat inclusive) specifically and the African Internet community at large - I would be very happy to share and get your buy-in beyond words. As a rule I dont do what we call eye service or oju aiye - no depth engagements. In future a direct email checking in would suffice - without the form of email you wrote and shared beneath. Dave as a member of the selection committee should not have nominated Titi. As a result whatever the outcome should she be selected above others, will will adjudged unfair and partial. Secondly, I do not know under what banner Titi is contesting for this position. Is it as ALS member and what is the name of that ALS? Or as a registered individual member? When was she accepted.. I am aware Titi was once a Nomcom member when she was sponsored by a respected member of this community but after her tenure, no one heard anything about Titi again in the development and promotion of AFRALO.
It is curious to me for her to suddenly wake up from the blues to now want to contest with others who have been building AFRALO to its enviable position now I cannot deny her long list of resume but to what extent have those qualifications benefitted AFRALO these past 10 years? As a stickler to due process and fair play, Titi should challenge my position above with evidences of all she has done for or with AFRALO these past 10 years for the AFRALO secretariat to verify to us, before she could be considered. In all honesty Titi shouid go back to the basis and reestablish her involvement with AFRALO for a period before seeking any elective position in ICANN to represent us.

Titi Akinsanmi is Digital Policy expert who currently serves as Policy and Government Relations Lead for West and Francophone Africa at Google.
Titi’s motto is to inspire, inform, involve and impact the world on issues around global internet and society, digital economy, policy and digital governance.
With 19 years of experience, she has directly engaged with global policy development processes, built capacity and strategy, and is enabling the implementation of strategies as it relates to Internet governance and the digital economy.
From making a case for the role and inclusion of youth globally who are primarily at the forefront of the digital ecosystem to helping governments shape the policy and regulatory environment as it relates to the role of intermediaries, content creation & sharing, data privacy and cybersecurity, Titi’s work requires intense interdisciplinarity.
She is a key opinion shaper and connector in the area of Digital Public Policy in Africa and beyond with extensive cross-sectoral networks and know how on the digital economy in Africa – and in reverse how those with interest on the continent can and should position themselves to sustainably grow the Digital Economy.
An against all odds connector of disparate thoughts, her experience spans both the public and private sectors, consulting for a range of international institutions including African Network Information Centre (AfriNIC), the World Bank Institute, IICD, Mindset, UN-GAID, UNECA, SchoolNet Africa and MTech Communications.
