Dear All, On behalf of Claire Craig and Justine Chew, ALAC Co-Vice Chairs, we are pleased to inform you of the progress of the ALAC’s Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to be nominated to serve on the 21-person Pilot Holistic Review (PHR) Team on behalf of the ALAC/At-Large. This call by the ALAC was made in conjunction with and does not replace the requisite application opening on 25 May 2024 by ICANN<https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/call-for-volunteers-pilot-hol...>; but rather, it will be used by the ALAC in their deliberations regarding applications received in good order and in keeping with the guidance found in part 2.5.1 in the Operating Standards for Specific Reviews<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/operating-standards-specific-rev...>. As at the closing date of 19 June 2024, ICANN org had received a total of 67 applications through the ICANN org EOI Form, of which 33 applications<https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=348815396> sought ALAC endorsement. At the same time, At-Large Staff had received 17 applications<https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=348815396> through the ALAC EOI Form, of which 14 applicants had also completed the ICANN org EOI Form. While applicants for 19 of the 33 applications received by ICANN org had not completed the ALAC EOI Form. Noting the stipulation in the ALAC’s Call for EOIs where only applicants who had completed both the ICANN org EOI Form and the ALAC EOI Form would be considered, and the corresponding recommendation by the OFB-WG, At-Large Staff has requested 13 of the 19 applicants to complete the ALAC EOI Form by 26 June and the remaining 6 applicants to do the same no later than 2 July 2024, 23:59 UTC should they wish to be considered for endorsement by the ALAC. Apart from the identified 19 applicants, no other new ALAC EOI submissions will be considered. Thereafter, the ALAC Appointee Selection Subcommittee (AASC)<https://community.icann.org/x/VwebAw> will convene to consider the list of eligible applicants and recommend to the ALAC a final list of 3 primary applicants, along with up to another 4 secondary applicants (if any) to be nominated to serve on the PHR Team on behalf of the ALAC/At-Large. The timeline for next steps is as set out below: · 3 July: At-Large Staff will check all EOIs for completeness and discrepancies. · 4 July - 19 July: The 2024 AASC will begin reviewing the eligible EOIs, meet periodically to discuss and formulate a shortlist of applicants. · By 25 July, tentatively: The AASC will finalize the list of applicants to be recommended to the ALAC for endorsement. · By 31 July: The ALAC will complete its vote on the AASC's recommendation. · 1 Aug: On behalf of the ALAC Chair, At-Large Staff will announce the list of ALAC selected candidates and submit the list to Review Support and Accountability (RSA) Coordinators for onward action as informed on the Pilot Holistic Review wiki<https://community.icann.org/x/aoCfEw>.
