Hi Seun It was pointed out to me that my message referring to the upcoming election which was to the community, had only gone only to ALAC members. I was addressing my earlier error. At the same time I do not think it has much impact on the general community apart from being informed, as staff will be letting everyone know very soon that it is only the current ALAC who nominate and vote. Thanks for the forward, while I have nothing for or against your re-election as Chair of ALAC, it's quite in-appropriate for you to campaign when nomination has not even commenced thereby discouraging others who may have an interest in the same position.
In the past, we have tried to discourage having to campaign on the list and I must note my concern and disappointment that you seem to be doing just that. You are conflicted on this one and I think the suggestion for your re-election to the position of Chair coming from you is ill-timed and inappropriate.

It has been a pleasure to work with you these past two years. Together, we have accomplished a tremendous amount in policy, outreach and engagement and operations. We have a lot more to do, and the work will continue to be uniquely challenging given the current Covid-19 pandemic.
As my term will be ending at the end of the ICANN69 Annual General Meeting, we will need to open nominations for the position of Chair shortly.
I would be more than happy to continue as your Chair for at least another year in order to continue to work with you to finalize many of the initiatives that I inherited or started during my previous terms.
