Support your proposal as well, Evan - including Patrick's remarks.
I was looking for a few major events that attract participation regionally and even globally. The three I chose (CES, CEBIT, Computex) seem to be decent choices for a test which meet that criteria, though this of course can be changed. Most of the other European IT events of which I am aware are even more local in focus than CEBIT. I'm certainly aware of the nature of CEBIT, having exhibited and attended there multiple times. I'm concerned about the added cost of creating substantial EURALO materials in German specifically for this test, especially if they don't already exist. The intent is to make the proposal palatable to ICANN budget folks -- especially on relatively short notice -- by minimizing the cost of delivery. Obviously one would hope that the At-Large people attending CEBIT would include a significant proportion of German speakers.(*) - Evan (*) - given what I know about hotel availability in Hanover, it will also be beneficial to have volunteers who can drive there without needing to stay overnight :-)
