In addition, I nominate myself for the position of GNSO Liaison. I do this after due consideration and with just a bit of reluctance, but the following is my rationale: - The two roles combined will not exceed the workload that I was prepared to take on as Board Liaison; - I think that this year, with the restructured GNSO being seated in Seoul, having an ALAC Liaison understanding the history of how we got here, and the complex politics within the GNSO, is going to be extremely important; - I have established credibility with the majority of old GNSO Council members, and I believe that this has been critical to our overall perceived credibility in ICANN. Carrying this credibility to the new Council will be very valuable and I think that I am in a good position to do this.
At the same time, it is imperative that we start getting more ALAC and At-Large people familiar with the GNSO and GNSO Council, and GNSO members familiar with them. I would suggest that active participation of ALAC and At-Large members in GNSO WGs is the key to this.
