Hi, This seems like a very reasonable approach. some adjustment would be needed to accommodate the ASP applications SARP review, but I am sure that could be figured out. avri On 8 Jun 2012, at 14:48, Olivier MJ Crepin-Leblond wrote:
Thanks for your follow-up Carlton.
The letter from the AU outfit you allude to has now been published: http://www.icann.org/en/news/correspondence/kinderis-to-chalaby-06jun12-en
I have asked Staff to add this item to the ExCom agenda next week.
Kind regards,
Olivier

Apropos, the letter of complaint from the AU outfit on the batching process shared by OCL (if memory serves). They were keen on an alternate approach that they claim would be fairer, given the number of applicants.
I'm inclined to think there is something there with a faint - and I say faint! - smell of unequal protection.
Maybe we ought to place this issue on the Ex-Com Agenda for next week?

Dear Cherine, gTLD Committee colleagues,
(cc GAC)
At this time, I would like to provide the following comments on behalf of the GAC.
The GAC believes it is important to address the concerns raised by the GAC and others about the fairness of Digital Archery, before it is launched.
The GAC further understands that the Board gTLD Committee intends to communicate next steps for providing further information to the GAC and identifying where there are linkages between Digital Archery, Batching, Root Scalability, Early Warning and GAC Advice/Objections so that there can be agreement reached, where appropriate, on the process and timelines. In essence, the GAC needs further information about ICANN's approach in order to finalise its own processes.
Lastly, please be informed that the GAC intends to send a letter of advice before the meeting in Prague, related to the above.
Best, Heather Dryden Chair, Governmental Advisory Committee
