Final Report of the ALS Mobilization Working Party
Please find attached the Final Report of the ALS Mobilization Working Party (ALS-Mob-WP). I will be happy to formally make a presentation to the ALAC and At-Large Community at Maureen's convenience, and I can also do presentations to any RALO that wishes. The report is the result of ten months of work by the WP. Everything in it was determined by consensus and the vast majority by unanimous consensus. The next step is a review by the ALAC and RALOs. Presumably the latter will be initiated by the ALAC Members from each region. Once the ALAC, with the support of the RALOs provides approval, the substance of the report will go to the ICANN Board for their agreement (or non-objection). Any Bylaw changes will be submitted to the Board and would be subject to the standard Bylaw amendment procedure as specified under Bylaws Article 25. In parallel with this report being submitted to the ALAC, the proposed Bylaw changes are being submitted to the Office of the General Counsel for their review and comments. Should the ALAC or Board require further modifications to the report, the WP will be reconvened. I will be happy to address and questions, comments or concerns. Alan
Thanks you Alan for sharing this report and congratulation to the entire members of the WP. It will be good to have clarity on timeline as it concerns review at RALO level and a confirmation on whether the ALAC reps from the region will oversee the consultation. I guess that information will be best provided by the ALAC Chair. Thanks Seun. You are correct as to the timeline. Once we have tossed this over to the ALAC it is now in Maureen's hands. But of course I will provide whatever help I can. That being said, whatever I can do to expedite the RALO discussions, please feel free to call on me. It is not only important to have this discussed at that level, but to ensure that the discussion is well informed. Thanks, Alan & Team, for the final report. It will have a significant bearing on the way our member ALSes will function in future. It is also an important input for our ROP review (together with the output of the Unaffiliated Individuals Mobilization Working Party). APRALO had decided earlier to invite you to make a presentation on the salient recommendations of this report to our community. We will decide on the date/time of this meeting after we hear from Maureen if there's going to be an ALAC-level call or if the RALOs are free to organize calls for their own region. Hi Alan, and all Thank you Alan for your very kind offer to speak to the RALOs to ensure that the right messages get out to the ALS (and other) members of At-Large. I would like these regional presentations to take place between now and the next ALAC meeting where you can make your final presentation before the ALAC votes to accept and endorse the document before it goes to the Board. But it would ensure as you say, that everyone is correctly informed about what the document is conveying. So if RALO Chairs and RALO ALAC members could decide on some suitable times for Alan to come and speak to your groups in the next few weeks (and cc the staff), then the document should be ready to be adopted by the ALAC at its meeting at the end of November. I don't think that's too late for the Board, is it? Hope that's OK with everyone. M On Wed, 21 Oct 2020, 5:08 pm Satish Babu via ALAC, < alac@atlarge-lists.icann.org> wrote:

Hello Maureen, Unless Alan does not mind multiple calls, I think it may be better to have combined RALO calls, so RALOs with similar timezone can be grouped and a time can be arranged for the single purpose call. I'm happy to do whatever people prefer. One reason to consider multiple sessions might be to allow the RALO session to focus on ALS and the RALO aspects of accreditation and the ALAC one more on the ALAC processes and the overall impact. But I will handle it any way people prefer. Alan On October 22, 2020 6:29:54 AM EDT, Seun Ojedeji <seun.ojedeji@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Alan, Thank you for sharing this report, for leading this process very well and to all working party members for an interesting experience. Making presentations to RALOs is a welcome idea. In AFRALO, we received good feedback about the single purpose call (which you attended) to discuss what was being discussed by the WP. We added it as a running agenda item for subsequent monthly calls. Best, Sarah On Wed, Oct 21, 2020 at 8:27 PM Alan Greenberg <alan.greenberg@mcgill.ca> wrote:
