ALAC/At-Large budgets
Nick, with the rest of the community, the ALAC has been asked to comment on the FY10 Operating Plan and Budget Framework. Although perhaps not unreasonable, there is virtually nothing there for us to directly comment on with respect to ALAC and At-Large. It would be very helpful, and perhaps allow us to better focus, if we could see what the projected components are of the budget framework which directly impact us - both from an absolute sense, and understanding how it compares to previous years. As I understand it, this would be in line with the ALAC independant review comments of fiscal transparency. Alan
An excellent Question With Notice for discussion at the briefing/discussion on FY10 Budget and Operational Plan with Doug & Kevin, teleconference that we have asked to have organised IMO... CLO 2009/4/1 Alan Greenberg <alan.greenberg@mcgill.ca>

I have asked for both: 1) More information on the components of concern to At-Large (which I presume to include not just direct spending on At-Large, but also spending on things like interpretation and translation, travel support, recruiting / outreach to build the various communities, including At-Large, and the like. 2) A time and date when a briefing with Doug and Kevin could take place which would cover the ops plan and budget as well as any other questions the community would wish to ask. More info will be forthcoming when I receive it. Hello CLO, I have drafted a preliminary action plan on IDN tasks attached as a PDF. Please review this in the context of ALAC Budgets. Thank you. Sivasubramanian Muthusamy http://isocmadras.blogspot.com On Wed, Apr 1, 2009 at 6:11 PM, Nick Ashton-Hart <Nick.Ashton-Hart@icann.org

Siva, this looks like a well thought out action plan and one that performs the difficult task of participation and involvement of the community at large as we are required to do. I hope our ALAC reps will carefully consider your suggestions and allocate some resources to enable you to carry out at least some of these initiatives and to attend ICANN meetings to further internal initiatives and networking opportunities for the better of all of our RALO's with an interest in IDN development/deployment. Our APRALO Travel submission also has some suggestions for ALAC liaisons from the perspective of the AP region.
