There seems to be a bit of miscommunication between the leadership team and the staff. There was supposed to be a formal call for the second VC position once it was decided that the position was going to become vacant. I have noticed that the position has been open on the election page but no formal announcement has been made. However as it is already on the election programme, it is a natural assumption that it can be filled. There is no other notice otherwise. I believe that the nomination has been made on the understanding that the opening was made late, however nominee acceptances close on May 6. No change appears to have been made about any other changes in these other election dates. Staff will need to confirm these new dates. I hope this provides some clarification of the misunderstanding until the staff addresses the confusion.
