I would like to nominate Siva for Board Liason based on the fact that the position could possibly lead to a great new ALAC candidate in the future and ALAC is an aspiration for Siva. I also believe Siva is an asset to APRALO. Regards, Karaitiana Taiuru At 09:08 p.m. 13/08/2009, Sivasubramanian Muthusamy wrote:
Hello
I am interested in the position of ALAC Board Liaison. If APRALO could support me for this position I wish to seek this nomination. ( Last year I was nominated to ALAC, but wasn't elected )
The opportunity for a position as Board Liaison would give me a continued presence at alac and help me contribute in the area of IDNs and other broader issues.
Thank you. Sivasubramanian Muthusamy

Could you also please send the group suggestions for an ALAC Board Liaison. This makes 3 different nominations that we seek your views upon.
The election process for the ALAC Board Liaison, who represents the ALAC and At-Large at the Board level has been slightly amended this year as specified by the <<https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?board_liaison_process_2009>https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?board_liaison_process_2009>Board Liaison Process 2009, which was adopted by the ALAC at their August 4th meeting. Each RALO is requested to forward a list of names of nominees that have been endorsed by the RALO. The ALAC will then vote on the list of candidates using the <<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting>Instant Runoff Voting system, which means that they will rank each candidate, from most preferred to least preferred.
Election timetable:
During its August 4 meeting, the ALAC adopted the following timetable for the Board Liaison election: * RALO Nominations Open Until: 15th September * Candidate Lists Published: 17th September * Candidate Conference Call with Community: Between 18th - 20th September * ALAC Election Period: 21st - 31st September * Results Announced: 1st October Source: <https://st.icann.org/asiapac/index.cgi?2009_election_calls_apralo>https://st.icann.org/asiapac/index.cgi?2009_election_calls_apralo
