Dear All, The Vice-Chair's comment is thoughtful and I agree to proceed with this. We could of course discuss the out-reach issues at next Monthly call. Hong On Wed, Aug 4, 2010 at 7:34 PM, Fouad Bajwa <fouadbajwa@gmail.com> wrote:
Dear Pavan and all,
I would like to direct this discussion on the APRALO list because such meetings have to be planned together with consensus and we have to avoid ad-hoc-ism.
As I get back from my travel and settle into things catching up with the messages, I think that this sudden meeting seems to be an ad-hoc activity that isn't in my knowledge nor do I have a record if any consent was requested prior. It seems a bit like the issue of the Armenian ALS that was suddenly thrown in without following a proper discussion and then a consensus based decision process was missing and I am very particular about these things.
I wasn't able to attend the last meeting due to time confusion but going over the agenda items discussed and since there wasn't a full quorum to reach decisions and that moves us to the next monthly meeting for which the Chair has to give the call. I don't seem to have knowledge of this meeting call despite the fact that I added my preferred call timing to the doodle link while checking my messages at the airport thinking it to be our regular monthly call.
The issue of In-Reach and Out-Reach are full organization-wide objectives as I learnt in Brussels with the surveys and their result activities therefore I personally believe that we shouldn't take this into an extraordinary approach without consensus and continue to keep these issues on Main Agenda items for the formal Monthly Meetings of APRALO.
In my role, I will have to treat this meeting call as an Ad-Hoc activity and cannot make a formal approval as it does not have agreed consent in a Monthly Meeting. I will also have to treat the the In-Reach and Out-Reach activities as APRALO's substantive work and objectives thus cancel this meeting call as it is not initiated by the Chair/Vice-Chair.
Some of the current agenda items that require key attention and decisions are (some only): 1. Vice-Chair Election 2. Final Decision for approval of Armenian ALS issue and APRALO-EURALO compromise discussions 3. Organizational Matters if any from Chair/Vice-Chair
Therefore with the consent of the Chair, I would like to officially cancel his meeting with the decision of non-informed Ad-Hoc meeting scheduling and recommend to remove the item titled "Next APRALO Meeting: 11 August 2010 APRALO In-reach Working Group Teleconference" and rename it to Next Monthly APRALO Meeting while including these agenda items to the monthly meeting space for edit by the Chair or Vice Chair respectively.
For any Ad-Hoc meetings in the future, my personal advice is to consult the Chair and/or Vice Chair/s respectively. Everyone has other engagements too and we will have to respect that.
Apologies for any confusions to all APRALO Members. The official monthly meeting announcement should come by the end of next week.
Best Regards.

Do we have the agenda for this working group meeting? Although I doodled, I won't encourage a call next time without agenda items, documents, reference materials duly prepared beforehand.
Who is currently leading this working group?
