In my opinion we need to spend some significant time on this matter at our next APRALO Meeting as what would be most useful to the ALAC who will be voting on this is for Regions to provide a list of names (and in fact the names Do NOT need to domicile in the Region) in fact I'd be delighted to see all 5 regions send in name suggestions lists that include several of the same candidates :-) Kariatiana I'm afraid you seem to have the baseline requirements (and the needs of the ALAC, and At-Large to have an experienced Champion at the Board as our Liaison as we implement the changes from the ALAC Review) somewhat turned around for this final {remember this position is for 1 final year then ceases to exist} this role is one where you need to TAKE experience {see the requirement as Staff suggests} Not one where experience is to be gained...
Certainly Siva is enthusiastic and wishes to make a contribution in quite an array of Internet and Internet governance matters, and he will in time as you suggest, become a great asset to APRALO / ALAC & At-Large I'm sure;
Thank you for these positive remarks.
but 1 year as a single topic (all be it an important one) Liaison, is not enough of a profile nor has he developed the necessary experience politically and structurally within ICANN and ALAC / At-Large to gain wide spread support... He is beginning to contribute to some WG's and other activities and stellar performance as well as gaining experience in leaderships roles in some of them would be I believe a better way forward for his 'career' in ICANN...
It surprises me to see here the word "career". I am a participant at ICANN at-Large who happen to have become inspired, immensely involved, and I have sought more responsibilities to do a little more work. . I am not pursuing a "career", Career as a volunteer?? I am puzzled. On the contrary, my participation is in complete disregard of my career and a business that I ought to be spending time on to take shape. Certainly I am happy to assist or 'mentor' him in this, if he so desires...
Thank you. You have always been of so much help and encouragement. Thank you Sivasubramanian Muthusamy

I would like to nominate Siva for Board Liason based on the fact that the position could possibly lead to a great new ALAC candidate in the future and ALAC is an aspiration for Siva. I also believe Siva is an asset to APRALO.

Hello
I am interested in the position of ALAC Board Liaison. If APRALO could support me for this position I wish to seek this nomination. ( Last year I was nominated to ALAC, but wasn't elected )
The opportunity for a position as Board Liaison would give me a continued presence at alac and help me contribute in the area of IDNs and other broader issues.
Thank you. Sivasubramanian Muthusamy

Could you also please send the group suggestions for an ALAC Board Liaison. This makes 3 different nominations that we seek your views upon.
The election process for the ALAC Board Liaison, who represents the ALAC and At-Large at the Board level has been slightly amended this year as specified by the << https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?board_liaison_process_2009> https://st.icann.org/alac/index.cgi?board_liaison_process_2009>Board Liaison Process 2009, which was adopted by the ALAC at their August 4th meeting. Each RALO is requested to forward a list of names of nominees that have been endorsed by the RALO. The ALAC will then vote on the list of candidates using the << http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting>Instant Runoff Voting system, which means that they will rank each candidate, from most preferred to least preferred.
