The draft agenda is for next conference call is at https://st.icann.org/asiapac/index.cgi?27_july_2010 Mr. Bajwa may wish to materialize his thoughtful idea on the wiki to enlighten all us. All are welcome to send in comments or edits by July 23. I shall then finalize the agenda for the call on July 27. Hong On Tue, Jul 13, 2010 at 12:47 PM, Fouad Bajwa <fouadbajwa@gmail.com> wrote:
Dear Matthias and Members,
AS we move forward with the newly accommodated leads, I would like to request you to take in to account that a few minutes in the beginning of the monthly meeting calls should be dedicated to ICANN Issues Orientation to keep everyone up to date on any issues that require APRALO's input and contributions including requirements for public comments, surveys, feedback on issues like the budget etc.... the intention is to sustain a momentum of regular and high level of input from APRALO members.
This would be a starting point to also include more members into APRALO tasks in hand as well as have a sort of orientation in place that also updates members about any changes henceforth that otherwise they might not be aware of. I would suggest to make this particular aspect part of the APRALO monthly meeting calls after the meeting is initiated, previous minutes approved, schedule of open issues for discussion and then what I have suggested.
Secondly, I would like to request that a monthly schedule/report/update is posted by the staff to the APRALO list despite the fact the wiki/social text is in place. This practice enables us to even view open tasks for that month's duration to be responded to effectively.
Dear Members: I would request all members to share any ideas that they might have not been able to share earlier due to their engagements right here on the list and I would like to take note of them and bring them into actionable items. I would like to take this opportunity to commit here that I will be working closely with you on any ideas shared helping convert them into actionable tasks and achievable goals.
An important area, that, I have worked on in my career has been cultivating communities of learning and practice; as well as knowledge networks, and the key ingredients to finding means for their success, has always been sharing innovative ideas and having some committed folks around to work on those ideas to nurture them into actionable items and then seed them as well as monitor their evolution over time.
There are important learnings from the ALS Survey, the Asia Pacific IGF (more on this needs to be shared by the APRALO Secretariat) and Rajnesh's idea about strengthening ALS participation. I will be shortly be sharing my suggestion for ALS Incubation as I jot it down for discussion.
Always feel free to contact me on the list or personally on my email or skype (ID: fouadbajwa)!

Dear All,
Please note that at the extraordinary APRALO Meeting on 22 June, Prof. Hong Xue was elected interim APRALO Chair for the remainder of Karaitiana Taiuru's term ending in March 2011. Karaitiana resigned from the Chair position in May 2010.
The original announcement of the resolutions taken at the extraordinary APRALO meeting omitted the decisions taken on the APRALO Chair position. Please excuse me for this oversight.
Congratulations to Hong! We wish her all the best in her new role!

Dear All,
APRALO held an extraordinary meeting during the ICANN Brussels conference on June 22nd to discuss the open APRALO Chair and Vice Chair positions.
Following the resignations of APRALO Chair Karaitiana Taiuru and Vice Chair Leslie Allison who stepped down in May, APRALO Vice Chair Fouad Bajwa acted as the interim Chair of the region and chaired the extraordinary meeting on June 22nd.
During the extraordinary meeting, it was resolved that Fouad should be moved from his one-year term, which ends in March 2011 to complete Leslie¹s two-year term, which will end in May 2012. APRALO will also shortly call for nominations to find a replacement for Leslie Allison who will complete the remainder of the open one-year term.
