Dear All, Rightly, Net4 Company has been taken to NCLT by it's Creditors and the matter is now sub-judice. Mainly the decision and the approval of the Resolution Plan has been delayed due to COVID-19. The documents as to Resolution Process and announcements are available at: https://net4cirp.wordpress.com/. Various issues faced by the customers have also been brought before NCLT by the Resolution Professional and other interested parties. As a result, a special email *icannresolutions@net4.com <icannresolutions@net4.com>* has been created by *Net4* to address all the issues being faced by the customers. Dear all
I had reached out to Samiran a couple of weeks back on how ICANN would be able to help out with Net4India. Here's his response:
<quote> With regards to Net4India, the company is in a legal dispute with several creditors. The matter was referred for insolvency proceedings at the National Company Law Tribunal in 2019. The tribunal appointed a resolution professional who is coordinating with ICANN on matters related to compliance of ICANN’s registrar agreement, including renewals and transfers of domain names. Since you are aware of registrants facing challenges in renewal or transfer of domain names, they may transfer the same from Net4India to another registrar. To do this, the Transfer Complaint form at this link <https://forms.icann.org/en/resources/compliance/complaints/transfer/form> (https://forms.icann.org/en/resources/compliance/complaints/transfer/form) is to be used. My contractual compliance team will reach out to the resolution professional and try to assist every registrant. </quote>
With kind regards,
satish

In theory, ICANN should transfer registrations to an emergency Registrar. https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/bankruptcy-breaches-2014-01-29-en
This is done automatically.
Kindest regards,
Olivier

Interesting situation in India.
---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Rahul Srivastava via APAC-Discuss < apac-discuss@atlarge-lists.icann.org> Date: Fri, Oct 2, 2020 at 10:08 PM Subject: [APAC-Discuss] Net4India operation closed To: apac-discuss@atlarge-lists.icann.org < apac-discuss@atlarge-lists.icann.org>
As per media reports, Net4india Indi's largest registrar has closed its operations and may file bankruptcy.
Now customers having domain names registered with them want to transfer them out. Customers are able to transfer authorization code from the admin panel but net 4 India has locked the domains (client transfer prohibited) and there is no option of unlocking.
Several emails to customer support gone unanswered.
Several customers are facing similar issues.
Curious to know what role ICANN can play in it
Regards Rahul
