I am in full support to Cheryl recommendation and have full confidence in Rinalia. On 30 Jan 2014 00:00, "Cheryl Langdon-Orr" <langdonorr@gmail.com> wrote:
In my opinion the BCEC has provided the At-large community with a well balanced slate of candidates from the SoI's received that does NOT need modifications or additions at all; and so I propose we make none, nor support any, names petitioned by any other RALO.
That said I would like to formally thank our Regional representatives Ellen and Siranush on the BCEC for their excellent work and on the outcome of course.
Finally I would like to formally go on the record as giving my congratulations and support to one of the slated candidates (and yes I am unashamedly being biased here) Rinalia Abdul Rahim, who of course is not only the only AP based candidate and the only woman, but who has (as we all should know) been a strong, deeply involved and committed representative for our Region, and for the interests of At-Large in particular, as she has served as our Regional Nomcom appointed ALAC member and additionally in the ALAC executive now Leadership Team (ALT) for the last few years... I believe that she should be our RALO's primarily supported candidate for selection by At-Large for ICANN Board Seat #15 and call on others in our Region to join me in this.

Hi everyone
Just to confirm what Siranush has said. Any candidate to be proposed for addition to the slate of candidates for the election of the 15th member of the Board from the ALAC, must come from among those who have already presented their EOIs to the Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC).
The BCEC has selected its best 5 candidates for election. However, a RALO can add one of the others who missed out through the BCEC process, to the slate if 2 other RALOs support that candidate's addition. It is important that you read the PUBLIC INFORMATION about all the candidates when it becomes available on the BCEC workspace.
The Board Member Selection Process Committee (BMSPC) met today (UTC1500) and an information teleconference will be held on February 7 to answer any queries about the process. There will be 2 sessions to cover the time zones.
Once the information becomes available about the candidates, I would suggest that we hold an APRALO meeting to discuss the candidates. As well as discussing those who have been selected for election, it would also give us an opportunity to discuss those who were not selected so that Siranush can report back to the other RALOs about APRALO's intentions regarding additions to the slate, if any.
Regards Maureen (APRALO representative on the BMSPC)

Dear APRALO colleagues, In accordance with the agreed schedule for Board Selection (Seat 15) (see the timeline here -

ge+Board+Member+Slate+of+Candidates+2014. First of all I would like to congratulate all selected candidates, but particularly Rinalia Abdul Rahim, for being included in the slate from At-Large Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC), who represents our region. According to the timeline, now it is the time for each RALO to identify additional names if any. Thus, with this e-mail I raise the call on APRALO list to ask whether APRALO members wish to suggest or add any names (out of submitted names, the list you can see below) to be included in the final slate of candidates or should someone's name petitioned for inclusion by us.
Please, note, that additional candidates should be OUT of applicants who submitted EOIs but were not selected by the BCEC, meaning from the list of already applied candidates, and the name whom we wish to add should be later supported by two other RALOs. The deadline for identifying new candidates is February 11, but to allow us the sufficient time for further processing, the deadline for this call is February 7, 23:59 UTC. Please, send me directly all your suggestions within the deadline. If no names or objections will be received by February 7, then we will announce that APRALO region has no objections with the final slates of candidates. Thank you very much for your cooperation and looking forward hearing from you. Sincerely, Siranush APRALO Acting ChairRepublic of Armenia

Dear All,
On behalf of the At-Large Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC), and in accordance with the agreed schedule for the At-Large Board Member Selection Timeline, we are pleased to announce the names of the slate of candidates to fill Seat #15 of the ICANN Board. These candidates have passed the initial BCEC evaluation and were approved on their call of Tuesday, 21 January 2014. Their names were announced to the ALAC by Olivier Crépin-Leblond on 28 January 2014.
The candidates, listed in alphabetical order of their family name are:
* Rinalia Abdul Rahim * Sebastien Bachollet * Alan Greenberg * Evan Leibovitch * Jean-Jacques Subrenat
The other applicants who submitted Expressions of Interest (EOIs), listed in alphabetical order of their family name are:
· David Allnutt
· Bobbie Lloyd
· Varol Senel
One applicant withdrew their EOI during the BCEC evaluation period.
The RALOs are now asked to consider whether any of the applicants who submitted EOIs but were not selected by the BCEC should be added to the final slate of candidates. In order to be added to the final slate, an applicant must be supported by three RALOs. The deadline for support from other RALOs for additional candidates is Friday, 21 February 2014.
Please see the relevant text of the ALAC ROPs below:
19.9 Final Candidate List
19.9.1 -Following the publication of the BCEC slate of candidates, RALOs have an opportunity to suggest adding candidates to that list. The timetable should allow for consultations and outreach both within and among RALO's.
19.9.2 - RALOs can only suggest candidates who had previously submitted an EoI to the BCEC during the current selection process.
19.9.3 - Candidates will be added only if they receive support through a formal vote of at least three of the five RALOs, each RALO voting according to its respective rules.
The final slate will be announced on Sunday, 23 February 2014.
