Extension of ALAC vote
Dear APRALO staff and colleagues, Due to the email deliverable issues and the fact that less than 50% of eligible votes have occurred, could you please extend the time period for the ALAC vote until UTC 23:00 Friday October 24 2008. Furthermore could you also contact each ALS that has yet to vote an individual email with the credentials. Perhaps also a follow up phone call to ensure they are even receiving list emails and to check that we have the correct email addresses. Kind regards, Karaitiana Taiuru APRALO Chair
I support this proposal... One thing though that some of you may fine helpful is to do what I found that (due to the amount of email traffic I get and me *never* wanting to overlook a vote as we do so many more in ALAC etc., I requested that my emails regarding BigPulse votes (which all come from Nick Ashton-Hart as sender and have the title Your Sign-in Details-> so they are easy to spot) go to a *different* address than I usually use for general mail and ensured that it is in fact a Webmail based system (in this case I use a Gmail account and the in box shows on my home page so I know if something has come in) this makes it so much easier to track and ensure that spam filters or accounts that don't always get checked too often or that folders that get SOOO full of other matters do not hide these time critical messages... I also support the extension. I also noted that the vote begins with questionaire for our business, which itself is fine, but may cause some confusion for those who do not know that (me included!). SO it might be helpful if you communicate that with the not-yet-voted ALSs, to prevent further confusion. Is there any way to find out who has yet voted, or is it confined with only a few people in charge, (which is fine? izumi 2008/10/21 Cheryl Langdon-Orr <cheryl@hovtek.com.au>:

Izumi it was decided after discussions at the last two APRALO meetings that the ideal time to get people to fill in the information needed to plan better ALS participation was to do things this way... It is unfortunate if you or anyone else was confused by that but I believe it was also mentioned in the advance notice about the vote opening as well... Staff can tell who has voted they are the only ones who might access the ticket system to show returns... remember they were able to confirm in the earlier list mail on this how many of us had already voted... I'm sure they will work, as closely as they usually do, with Karaitiana and his executive team to ensure whatever follow up that may be require is done...
