Regional Advice for Internet Governance Institute
Dear APRALO, Please find the attached DD for Internet Governance Institute. Let me know if you have any concerns by this week and I will send it over for ALAC vote after. Thanks! Pavan Budhrani
Satish and I spoke to Babu Ram who is the CEO of this organisation while we were in Russia. It appears to be a formal organisation but I am concerned that a senior member of another ALS (the ISOC Chapter) is also a Director of this organisation. I thought at one stage tha Babu was a member of the ISOC Chapter but apparently he has set this up separately. It seems a bit elitist - do you think? People can't get in without specific approval. Not totally open. M On Mon, Jul 29, 2019 at 4:49 PM Pavan Budhrani <pavan@dot.asia> wrote:

It is clear that Internet Governance Institute has its own dimension of functioning. Yes, Babu was the one of founder but he is not in ISOC Nepal activities. No conflict of interest applies here. IGI is a not for profit organization, established by senior people of the sector and intended for a wider involvement of the community. Involvement of senior people does not mean it is elitist. ISOC Nepal recommend for the approval. Thank you, Bikram Shrestha Sent from my iPhone

Thank you Bikram. I just wanted to check that you were good with it. I'm fine with this as well. I'm sure that you will all work together in Nepal to run a great APRIGF in 2020. Babu promoted it well and we are all looking forward to it already. Maureen On Tue, 30 Jul 2019, 3:22 AM Bikram Shrestha, <bikram.shrestha@idea.com.np> wrote:
