Teddy,
Before you raise this issue, I would advise you to go to Tuvalu and discuss with the people there. Do not enter affairs with little knowledge especially when they are someone else.
Franck, What Im thinking about ".tv", it was since 1998, including ".tp" (wich has been changed to ".tl"), and ".cc". Considerations: In my country (".id"), one of the example is http://www.rcti.tv One of the large TV broadcasting station; That my internal affair in my country, one of the company using it, since ".tv" is not an "g-TLD"; If ".tv" as a g-TLD, there will b an opportunity to open more registrars and ICANN has to use their policy; (TV in electronic industry is the most popular one in public globally as Television since 1950s)
Just to give you some ideas. The proceeds of the ccTLD TV is, I think, about 20% of the national budget of Tuvalu. Tuvalu is famous because, it may be the first country that will suffer from global warming and sea level rise. Global warming partly due to deforestation from aggressive logging companies...
Confusing me...sorry.
With this environment, and little resources available to the people of Tuvalu, would you cut such revenue to a small island state or help them increase this revenue?
So, r you agree of misuse of cc-tld commercially?; Globally? and also Monopolistic? How about the idea to re-delegate ".tv" from cc-TLD to g-TLD policy? Then, ICANN open many more registrars all over the world, and Tuvalu got x% from those revenue probably more better revenue than now? If we are still stick on ".tv" as cc-TLD and many countries worldwidely using it, then Tuvalu is going to be an "Only One Global Cyber Country" in this planet. (breach our ISO worldwidely). ISO has to change Tuvalu's prefix as it happened to ".tp" to ".tl". Sincerely yours, -tap

Is somebody here has discussed on ".tv" cc-TLD?
I raise question here because there are many Internet registrants registered their second_domain of tv for television name not Tuvalu as a name of country. Misuse? or Fraud?
Do we have to suggest it to ICANN that misuse of ".tv" as "uknown g-TLD"?.
I think we have to discuss it on policy basis.
Thanks, -teddyap
