Hi Nick, I would like to remind you to forward us (the Budget WG), last year's Budget to help us in finalising the one for the current financial year. I would also appreciate if you can let us know the budgetary allocation made by ICANN for APRALO activities and what parameters are followed in aproving the budget? As you would appreciate that since a lot of work and proposals are lined up for executions but for the availability of adequate funds the above information would help us in priortising the mechanics of the same. Dear Nirmol: Happy to oblige. The document is attached. With respect to allocations for APRALO, as I have stated in other places previous practice has not been to specify anything by region. This is for two reasons: 1) ICANN does not budget by regions, and 2) there has been no regional input received on budgeting at any point in the past. There is no impediment to doing so however, to the extent that regional budget proposals are received. As to the 'parameters followed in approving the budget' I refer you to the previous recordings of discussions by Doug Brent and others on the budgeting process which can be found on the ALAC wiki at st.icann.org/ alac and to the bylaws of ICANN, which lay out a number of elements of the budget development process. There is also excellent materials on the operations planning, strategic planning, and the nexus of these two on budgeting which can be found in the www.icann.org/meetings subsections for the last few ICANN meetings, as well as the published draft strategic and operational planning also online at www.icann.org. Dear Hong and all, I have attended the call on Jan. 10 for the last 15 minutes or so. What I mean is the next one - January call, which is scheduled on Jan 22 according to the APRALO wiki, the regular monthly conf call on every 4th Tuesday, that's tomorrow. The last one held on Jan 10 was the differed December call, not the January one, and I don't remember we had decided to cancel the Jan one. The Chair is supposed to give us the reminder. As far as I checked, there was no outcome or summary minutes posted for the Jan 10 meeting, nor any change/cancellation notice for the Jan 22 call. Thus I took it to be held on Jan 22 as a default. To add, the original plan as was written at the wiki is that regular call begins at UTC 0600 while the recent practice is starting at 0500. I chaired the meeting, and it was proposed by me at the end of the meeting ( Hong you had probably left for your class) That I try and organise a meeting on our scheduled date of the 22nd with the ALAC ExCo (for a least those on APRALO who will be attending New Delhi and the APRALO ExCo to discuss our New Delhi Meeting planning... This should have gone up on the Wiki site and to the list as minutes but they seem to be delayed for some reason L To meet with the ALAQC ExCo we would need to shift our time... I have not had confirmation from them as yet ( but hope this will prompt them to reply J ) but this change of time should suit Izumi better ( by the sounds of things) and hopefully if we choose the 1100 UTC time it will be after Hong’s class as well...
I certainly think it would be well worth while holding the meeting even if it is only a short one with the New Delhi Meeting(s) and the ALAC ó APRALO interaction for 2008-09 being the only Agenda items...

I have attended the call on Jan. 10 for the last 15 minutes or so.
What I mean is the next one - January call, which is scheduled on Jan 22 according to the APRALO wiki, the regular monthly conf call on every 4th Tuesday, that's tomorrow.
The last one held on Jan 10 was the differed December call, not the January one, and I don't remember we had decided to cancel the Jan one.
The Chair is supposed to give us the reminder.
As far as I checked, there was no outcome or summary minutes posted for the Jan 10 meeting, nor any change/cancellation notice for the Jan 22 call. Thus I took it to be held on Jan 22 as a default.
To add, the original plan as was written at the wiki is that regular call begins at UTC 0600 while the recent practice is starting at 0500.
Anyway, I hope our Secretary or Chair will give us the clarification shortly.

Hi, Thanks Cheryl for the proposal and sorry for not replying earier. In general, I appreciate the proposal to put the call later. Though I got a meeting tomorrow from 1 pm all the way down to dinner with the client thus even this shift does not help ME to join the call. BUT, please go ahead and run it as Ranjnesh suggest below, from 0900 UTC. It's too late to go back and forth. AND, please set the basic agenda and prepration for our AGM.
