Mr. Williams, Further to the personal email message sent to you last week and the general message sent to the At-Large List (copy included below) regarding the duration and terms of your banning from list posting privileges being decided by the ALAC as a whole at our monthly meeting on August 12, please be advised that it was resolved at this meeting that your period of sanction will be applied for 6 months from the date of original notification, and that after that time a review of your posting privileges will be held (there were some complaints about off list contact and harassment that the ALAC considered also inappropriate and if such matters are bought to the attention of the ALAC Chair during the sanction period then this will be considered by the ALAC when it looks at your reinstatement of posting ability. Please also note that it was further agreed that any future digression from the established Code of Conduct for the At-Large list after you again have full subscription and posting rights returned will result in an immediate escalation of future sanction to permanent suspension. On Tuesday 5th August, Jeff Williams was notified by the Chair of the ALAC that further off-topic postings such as that entitled How to carjack a top Google exec, according to Google would result in his posting privileges on the public At-Large list being revoked, for a time to be decided by the ALAC.
Since that notification, further off-topic postings have been sent, and as a consequence we have been asked to suspend his posting privileges. He will continue to receive messages from the list, however, posts sent to the list will be bounced back to him automatically.
