Dear All: Any help you can provide with the below would be greatly appreciated! ------ Forwarded Message From: Nick Ashton-Hart <nick.ashton-hart@icann.org> Date: Wed, 21 May 2008 08:26:05 +0200 To: <icann-staff@icann.org> Conversation: ICANN Multilingualism and Information Usage Survey Subject: ICANN Multilingualism and Information Usage Survey Dear Colleagues: As you may have noticed, today a survey was announced on icann.org which is designed to help us all understand better what information different stakeholder communities use, in particular where their first language is not english. This is a product of ICANN's translation committee (reachable at trans-comm@icann.org). It is available in 11 languages including english. Needless to say, we really want to get as many responses to this as we can; it will help us all to understand the types of information most used by the existing community and it also provides us an opportunity to see what information the non-English fluent ICANN participant would use in their language(s). We hope that this survey will help us reach out to groups of people who would be more active in ICANN issues, but have not been able to participate fully due to language issues; a surveying tool was used in order to make it easy for us to gather the community's views - there is even a live link to the results available which can be found on the announcement below. The survey is also a key part of the response to the public consultation on ICANN's draft Translation Framework (available in multiple language versions from: http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-13feb08.htm. Since the announcement and the survey itself is available equally in all 11 languages, we hope you will help us by forwarding the announcement text to any language communities that you know, in the language or languages that will be most relevant to them - and ask them to pass it on.
