Jeffrey, That is a very poor argument. That is saying that I should not take Tylenol because someone overdosed on Tylenol. I don't believe Whois databases include contains financial, or medical information. I last time I was in Spain, 1995, at the airport, I used a phone directory and a reverse phone directory. When I went in a Taxi, they had the name and telephone number of the Taxi visible. At the last ICANN meeting, how many times have you handed out a business card with the similar information to the Whois record?
Why is keeping personal data in whois important? Do you want to be victim such as happened with WE? See:
