Just to show you a different point of view - do you think that you really have to expose personal information to each and every user of the Internet, for you to have access to it in case of an investigation? Don't you think that there could be better ways, that give you access to it when you're working in partnership with public law enforcement agencies, while not disclosing it to everyone else? Also, don't you think that people (at least the not clearly ill-intentioned ones) would be more likely to provide accurate information and keep it updated if they knew it was to be used with care, rather than while knowing that it will be out there for everyone to see? (Or, if you prefer - do you *really* think that anyone can force registrants to provide accurate information if they don't want to?) -- vb.
