Arguably, the At-Large component of ICANN meetings constitute such sponsored sessions. And budget has been allocated to perform more of the outreach activities that attracted ALSs such as my own into ICANN involvement. There are many forms of imbalance against users at ICANN, but meeting sponsorship would not strike me as one of those forms. - Evan
