Izumi, you have now focused on the truly bizarre part. On our LAST conference call (which is a true ALAC meeting, despite not being in person) we decided to do two things. 1. Finalize our rules of procedure including election procedures and vote on them, and then 2. Proceed with the election (we had already deferred the election already because we did not yet have formal election procedures). For reasons that remain unclear, we completely ignored item 1. The rules were not cleaned up and they still omitted terms that we had informally decided that were important. There was no vote. But we proceeded to have an election despite the absence of formal rules and process.
