Hi Natalia, I do use AI to assist with the editing and translation. Mainly Descript, which very successfully trims out ums, ers, stutters etc, in both transcript and video/audio. However there is still a major element of manual correction after that. Descript, in fact also did the translations (except for Arabic and Russian - for those I used Google). Obviously I couldn't correct the other languages, but Descript does actually permit collaboration, via shared projects. Something to think about. I also may use a Python script called BatchWhisper <https://www.reddit.com/r/learnmachinelearning/comments/xl7lpu/how_to_use_ope...> on some jobs. Works well. Yes, I do use Otter, as does Zoom, for live real time text, but now I invariably use these other tools to process recordings. One irony is that AI rather than lightening, has ended up massively adding to my workload. Now most of my time is taken up correcting edits and transcripts. (This at the same time as ISOC pulled my funding last year, under the pretense that now everyone has Zoom, they no longer need livestream support. Hope lingers they may yet see the error of their ways.) My latest thing is using ChatCPT for reformatting / summarising transcripts. What I have noticed that fed different language versions of the same thing and asked to summarise in that language, the format can be quite different, perhaps reflecting the practice of its speakers. But certainly, AI-powered transcription and translation is now improving at a fast pace. Way better than even a year ago. I just thought recently about which tools we may use within ICANN to translate everything (docs, recordings, zoom realtime meetings, to get summary) - AI or something else? When we incorporate it finally we`ll see a real impact and engagement of many more members in the processes (many of not english speaking members are stopped with disability to understand what is happening and being discussed).
