I am also concerned about death penalty, and can quote declaration of principle on this subject by the international community. However, I would not suggest either not to hold meetings in countries where death penalty is part of the legislation, nor to rally against death penalty during an ICANN meeting, nor to recommend ICANN to include this in the core principles. Cheers, Roberto

Correct me if i'm wrong, has anyone @ ALAC mentioned that issues of freedom of expression, censorship and internet freedom ARE of concern to ICANN.
The question is not whether they're of concern, the question is whether they're relevant, which in general they're not. ICANN runs the top level of the DNS and the IP allocations, not the whole Net.
I'm sure many people at ICANN are concerned about clean drinking water, too. I know I am.
