Would you accept to be banned for six months without the possibility to object?
If I was being blatantly disruptive I'd expect to get banned
I guess not. So, this has to be organised. Drum justice is not good for mailing lists. Cheers! jfc

Correct. Dictature is a Roman Democratic mode. It does exist in the French constitution and in many others.

The point is the evaluation and the warning of that blatantliness. We must have rules. Also, because what you consider as intrusive can be considered as informative by others it is better to devise a system where everyone is happy. I proposed one. But I agree, mailing lists are not a good way to work on-line. But this is the most easy to set-up. There are others like http://www.igloo.org etc. jfc
Michele and all, Define blatent in any open and transparent discourse context! Indeed democracy would fail without firm positions. Unwise firm positions has destroyed or damaged far far more democratic efforts. In my country an example was the "Jim Crow Laws". It wasn't until the 1960's these laws were finnaly repealed thankfully! In my country, freedom of speech and expression is embodied in our 1st amendment. Such being our 1st Amendment is not by accident, but by intent, and is very firmly defended and upheld. So I am saddened, and sorry that you or anyone whom would seek by any means to deny any other person their god given right to speek freely and without threat of any kind! Such is deplorable, and inconsistant with good moral standing and human dignity where ever they may reside... Michele Neylon wrote:
