David, In response to your request, staff has assembled information on web site traffic to the pages associated with the Draft ATRT2 report. Summary [cid:image001.png@01CEE15A.9E022510] Observations: · A reasonably large number of people responded to the publication of the report; however, the numbers actually reading and responding to the report is very low. · The upcoming face to face meeting in Buenos Aires provide an opportunity to explore the root cause in order to consider future improvements. · Possible solutions o High level summary with key observations posted separately as a separate document or integrated into the body of the Public Comment Announcement o High level summary recorded and available via audio and video o Webinar briefings to the community immediately after the draft report is published. (This option was proposed by staff and included as part of the planned activities, but not selected due to time and ATRT2 availability.) o Blog written by ATRT2 Members o Additional innovative solutions leveraging work of ICANN labs Note that we are not able to track the number of downloads of the Report PDF; Google Analytics data indicates the number of visits to the node containing the PDF. (The number of views to the node appears exceedingly low and is provided here as it was derived from Google Analytics. Further investigation may be appropriate.) Attached are the underlying Google Analytics Reports, for your reference. Staff activities to broaden awareness of the Draft Report: Since publication of the Draft Report, staff has done several things to broaden the reach of the announcement and draw more attention to the Draft Report. · Policy Staff has circulated notifications of the Draft Report and Public Comment to all SOs and ACs as part of the standard notification process. · Staff has circulated individual notifications to each group in anticipation of your face to face meetings in Buenos Aires shortly after the draft report was published. · A follow up notification is in process (in translation) to notify the community about the Correction to the Executive Summary and of the fact that the entire body of the Draft Report is now available in all languages. Potential next steps After the Review Team collects feedback via the face to face meetings in Buenos Aires, you may want to consider whether additional methods of disseminating the report and raising awareness would be beneficial. These could include several webinars to highlight key elements of the report and the draft recommendations prior to the closing of the public comment period on 13 December. I gotten a lot of blank stares when I've told folks that ATRT2 had come out with draft recommendations and I'm a bit curious. Don't worry about it if it is challenging to do just before the meeting.
