Your call with ICANN Staff (ATRT 1 Impl.) on Thurs, 18 Apr - 17:00 UTC
Dear Review Team Members, ICANN staff members responsible for the implementation of ATRT 1 recommendations have been notified of your wish to hold a call prior to your face-to-face meeting in Los Angeles. We would like to suggest meeting this week on Thursday, 18 April at 17:00 UTC ( http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20130418T17). Please refer to the calendar invite for dial-in details. The questions you drafted in Beijing are attached here. Thank you Alice! Dear Team Members Question: any chance to add another question to the list? Explanation: during our first LAX meeting I asked Fadih if he had undertaken, or was planning to do any changes in the internal workflows and/or organization to address his new strategy. I would ask the same question to ICANN staff: in view of ATRT1 what changes in workflows and/or organization where undertaken? I would also like to go back to my request to Fadih to provide the ATRT2 with a internal functional organizational chart of the Corporation. In my case, this is a precondition to understand who am I talking too. Dear Review Team Members, I'd like to provide you with information that may be helpful in connection with your question about internal workflows and organization. As Fadi announced last week in Beijing, the implementation of the ICANN Portfolio Management System is well underway. The new ICANN Portfolio Management System is to assist ICANN in effectively managing and prioritizing work activities across its global workforce. ICANN is sharing a snapshot of the Portfolio Management System to increase ICANN's transparency and visibility into ICANN's workload and progress, towards our four management plan objectives and sixteen management goals as guided by the ICANN Strategic Plan as developed by the community. ICANN's work is organized in a hierarchy of Objectives, Goals, Portfolios, Programs and Projects. More details are available at https://www.myicann.org/plan. As for the functional organizational chart, I will follow up on this request and will provide you with additional information shortly. Best regards, Larisa B. Thank you very much Larisa! I'm ashamed to admit that I missed Beijing altogether because a relevant ministerial meeting in Montevideo and so far have only been able to get up to date listening trough the ATRT2 and GAC recordings of the Beijing meetings. I will look after Fadi's presentation as well. Best regards Carlos Raúl Gutierrez -- crg@isoc-cr.org Skype carlos.raulg +506 7070 7176 El 15/04/2013, a las 13:44, "Larisa B. Thanks, Alice! Just to inform the RT, I'm scheduled to be on a round table in Brasilia, exactly at 14:00 (Brasilia time, that corresponds to 17:00 UTC...). It will be very difficult to change that previous scheduled assignment, but I will try, anyway... So I'm already apologizing to the colleagues if I couldn't do it... best demi On 04/15/2013 02:21 PM, Alice Jansen wrote:

Carlos and RT, Alice will post the entire call schedule which now includes a number of new calls over the next few weeks. In Beijing, we decided it would be important to interact with all 3 prior Review Teams, as well as ICANN Staff and the nominees for ATRT2 who were not selected. Therefore the call schedule in the short term is heavy. I recognize the high frequency of calls in the short term but also recognize the need to initiate data gathering early in our work to be able to properly frame the issues and to deliver solid, proposed recommendations in early October. As a team, we could always decide that a regularly scheduled ATRT2 call is not needed and dispense with it. As for the call tomorrow, we are speaking with ICANN Staff (managers) at Denise's suggestion. The purpose of the call, is to provide clear requests to ICANN Staff (building on the list of questions we provided to Denise) for inputs and documents pertaining to the implementation of Review Team recommendations. This call should facilitate a more efficient and effective face-to-face meeting in Los Angeles. Additionally, we should note that this is only the first interaction with the broader ICANN staff and ATRT2 will have follow up opportunities to ask additional questions and ask for additional documentation. Alice, please circulate the agenda for tomorrow's call as soon as you can. Going forward, let's operate by circulating the agenda for calls at least 5 days prior to a scheduled call. Thank you. Sorry Brian, but I had missed that one. On a related matter the use of the ADIGO platform is not easy for me. Ironically its lack of interoperability with my VoIP provider at home and office lies within my local duties as a domestic regulator, but in fact the use of two separate platforms for voice and documents at the same time is not efficient in my case At the regional level, both within Centralamerica, as well as on the Continental level, at our regulators asociations we use WEBEX, which combines video, voice and document sharing over the same platfomr and it works prefectly both at office and at home. I don't know what other broadband-challenged colleagues think about this situation, but if ICANN is seriously looking into international engagement, they should look closely to more efficient alternatives to ADIGO.
