I need a bit more clarification. Since this requires a vote of the BC [CBUC] are we first asked for edits and comments, and then a vote, or are we actually voting on this version? I know we are trying to learn new rules, but it would be helpful to get that clarification. I really appreciate that you are doing this work, Berry. Will you be joining us in Seoul? CBUC, I was not able to remotely attend the CBUC session yesterday due to conference line issues. However, I will be sure to catch the recorded session. It was my intent to quickly ask for clarification around the BC Position Statement for PEDNR. I understood from our last BC conference call that a vote was NOT required on this, regardless of my misstatement below. Either way, I submitted a draft of the statement to the BC List on 10/20 for comments and edits, and to date, Marilyn's comments below are all that has been received. May I ask for assistance with a few questions below, please? 1. Are we, in fact, dealing with "new rules" as stated below? Either way, can I get a pointer to where the Constituency Position Statement process is located? I'm sure it probably exists on the ICANN site somewhere, but I cannot seem to find it. 2. Do we need a VOTE on initial position statements like this (Pre-PDP or PDP)? And if so, when and by what platform is that accomplished? Is this process initiated by request to the BC Secretariat? 3. The 11/6 deadline date...what happens if I receive zero feedback? I do understand we are in the middle of Seoul, but I would like to remind everyone that this position statement is beyond the PEDNR working group's deadline. Hi Berry, Thanks for all your efforts. I support the paper as drafted. No, we are not working under any new rules, the policy position process is set out in the Charter, linked from bizconst.org. We do not typically need to vote on position statements, as they are adopted by acclamation if no negative comments are offered. If you have none by 11/6, then it shall be adopted. Thanks!
