Just went through the Onboarding program pilot and see that you and I have to submit our statements. Thanks to Omar for leading the way. also have to have a report in a few days on the sponsorship for the remote hub/funding from BC. Can you do that in a few days? I have my own report/done,but then burned up in the loss of my home in the fire. I will reconstruct, as we have deadlines. Also, Lawrence, as Onboarding Pilot, you have still a testimonial due. 300-500 words. but we have to do that and as of course, we all benefit from your experience we need that. ________________________________ From: Bc-private <bc-private-bounces@icann.org> on behalf of Lawrence OlaWale-Roberts <icann@microboss.org> Sent: Saturday, March 10, 2018 8:21 PM To: Steve DelBianco Cc: BC Private Subject: Re: [Bc-private] UPDATED LAST CALL: Draft comment on ICANN FY19 proposed budget Dear Steve, MicroBoss supports this new paragraph and i am happy the BC is putting its weight behind the Fellowship program, ICANNWIKI, Onboarding and CROP. The attached reflects minor corrections from Jimson, plus this new paragraph that your ExComm unanimously endorsed today:
In the spirit of sacrificing a program we find beneficial in order to restore proposed cuts in other programs, the BC Recommends skipping the FY19 Non-Contract Party House (NCPH) Intersessional. The NCPH Intersessional consumes nearly $100K in ICANN’s proposed FY19 budget, and the BC would prefer that those funds be used to restore funding for CROP, Special Budget Requests, Onboarding, ICANNWiki, and Fellowship program, as described above.
Your ExComm members attended the NCPH Intersessional last month in Los Angeles and while we found it valuable, we believe that $100K could be more valuable to BC in restoring cuts to the other 5 programs listed.
--------- Original Message --------- Subject: [Bc-private] LAST CALL: Draft comment on ICANN FY19 proposed budget From: "Steve DelBianco" <sdelbianco@netchoice.org> Date: 3/8/18 6:52 pm To: "BC Private" <bc-private@icann.org> This is LAST CALL to review our draft comment on the proposed FY19 ICANN budget<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.icann.... -intro-highlights-fy19-19jan18-en.pdf> . Jimson initially offered a 2-page draft comment. On 1-Mar Denise Michel added requests for staff expense controls and realistic revenue projections. Yesterday we reconciled differences between Jimson and Denise on using auction proceeds to replenish ICANN Reserve Fund. On 5-Mar Marilyn added several new pages that object to cuts in some programs and request cuts to other programs. (see attachment 1 for Marilyn’s markup). I have done my best to organize and edit Marilyn’s suggestions so that BC members can review carefully (attachment 2). This comment period<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.icann....> closes 8-Mar, but that does not leave enough time for BC member review of the latest changes. SO I will inform ICANN that we will submit comments on 11-Mar, leaving you 3 days to review and comment. So please reply all with your edits/comments by 18:00 San Juan time on 11-Mar. Thanks again to Jimson, Denise, and Marilyn.
