I understand that some BC members might not understand the implications about travel to and from, but for instance, if you hold a US green card, but you are from one of the target countries, you may find travel outside of US very risky, as you are not sure if you can return. I only know about this as one of the associations that I advise from MENA, is incorporated in the US. However, senior staff are from one of the target countries - although they hold a US green card. The Board is afraid to let him travel to do the business of the association. He has been living in the US for several years, and owns property here. This situation has affected one Board member's participation in the Board Workshop taking place in Los Angeles this week, and it may make it more difficult for certain community members to travel to ICANN 58 in Copenhagen in March.
