Some time make a survey is with only proposit to legalize a determinate situation. Im particularly against surveys I prefer a good open discution and for a enough time to reach a litle consensus. Survey is a tool not transparent for all and the results depend on who read the answers and what be his/her intetpretatíon. Many times the reponse is only one cross over very important issues wich need to be discussed. My two cents from my vacations, on Morocco. Carlos Dionisio Aguirre. Hi everyone, In relation to choosing a collaborative platform I thought that it would be good to raise the issue of accessibility for people with disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities website contains a really informative webinar and other information. http://www.accessibilityonline.org/Archives/index.php?app=4&type=transcript&... After reading through this information the following questions are useful when assessing the accessibility of collaborative platforms. 1.Is the white board application displaying text based lectures slides (e.g. power point) accessible to screen readers? 2. Can text window for chat, asking questions and the like be ballooned for people with low vision? 3. Do point and click operations using a mouse have a keyboard equivalent for people for low motor skills? Ideally, all spoken text should be captioned None of these questions are meant to be vetos - just a way of assessing how well the systems can be used by our brothers and sisters who have differing abilities. Also the questions are mine - you may think of some others if you go to the ADA website. You will need about an hour to fully go through the webinar but its probably an hour well spent if you are not familiar with accessibility issues (like I was) Cheers Will Tibben
Dear William, Thanks for this, I've added this resource to the Technology's Taskforce (TTF) wiki page at https://community.icann.org/x/EgNlAg . I hope to review the webinar very soon Dev Anand On Fri, May 24, 2013 at 6:51 AM, William Tibben <wjt@uow.edu.au> wrote:

Actually, when I started to write questions, I followed two tasks: - to go ahead with the results of previous survey and to involve in it new members; - to analyze areas of "surpluses" and "deficities" of each ALS (what each particular ALS has to share with others - translated materials, technical or yudicial expertize and so on, and in which sphere each particular ALS needs help - from staff, from Board, from other ALSes) I absolutely agree, that this survey is too long. How we can solve this prtoblem? I also prefer have good discussion on second item, and I think that all answers to these surveys have to be open. Thank you for your proposal.
I think that at least parts 1,4,5 and 6 were in the survey performed a few years ago (I think in 2011); Dev can tell you. So, I believe we can have these information from there.
