I wonder however if all the proposed issues can be covered in such a short document and whether they can be discussed adequately by the agenda for the cross-community workshop? - tentative agenda for the cross-community workshop seems fine, although I would add discussants from GAC and perhaps CoE. Here attached are my first seven questions. They are pretty high level, but I have been asked the gist of them several times over the past year. I will not attempt to answer them until folks tell me whether they are sensible questions, as the answers are not quick and easy. Stephanie Perrin On 14-12-12 10:08 AM, HIBBARD Lee wrote:

Thanks Roy, that would be great! I have quite a bit already written on number 7...my proposed mechanism is binding corporate rules, but I never quite got the EWG talked into endorsing that idea.... cheers Stephanie On 14-12-12 2:04 PM, Balleste, Roy wrote:

I agree, I was thinking that the question "What do we mean by human rights?" with links to all the important documents in the answer would be good. For those following the debate about last week's Guardian article, there are some interesting aspects of the debate that have surfaced after that article. I think we have to talk about how civil society deals with the tensions in human rights....and in particular, how we at ICANN deal with the tension between privacy and the right to know. Not an easy answer, that one. cheers Steph On 14-12-14 5:13 PM, joy wrote:
Hi Stephanie I really like the idea of FAQ and thanks for the initial list - it looks good. Is it too basic to add to your list a first question: what are human rights? [It may sound obvious, but I think getting some basic understanding about what we are talking about it quite critical for building support on the next steps...] Happy to help in shaping the answers as well once questions are settled. I like Bill's idea of linking, in the answers to FAQ, to more background documents such as the up to 10 page primer that Niels has been discussing Cheers
