To submit your proposal, go to https://forms.gle/vQVDeT26sKjofZGK9 = = = There will be two ccTLD News Sessions at ICANN75: Themed ccTLD News Session, on geographical indications Tuesday, 20 September | 02:30-04:00 UTC (tentative) At ICANN75, the ccNSO Meetings Programme Committee (MPC) and ccNSO Internet Governance Liaison Committee (IGLC) will jointly organise a ccTLD News Session on the possible impact of legislative initiatives to protect Geographical Indications<https://www.wipo.int/edocs/pubdocs/en/wipo_pub_952_2021.pdf> on ccTLDs. The protection of Geographical Indications has recently (re-)emerged in various regions as an area of increased regulatory attention and legislative initiatives. Latest example: the European Commission proposals<https://ec.europa.eu/growth/publications/regulation-geographical-indications...> which aim to reform the EU framework on geographical indications, with special attention for enforcement issues linked to the registration of domain names, both as Top Level Domains and Second Level Domains. The purpose of the session is to raise awareness regarding the developments in the area of protection of Geographical Indications across the regions - if any -, and the impact on individual ccTLDs or Regions. Traditional ccTLD News Session, on a variety of topics Wednesday, 21 September 2022 | 08:30-09:30 UTC (tentative) This traditional ccTLD News session will cover a variety of topics, as per the suggestion of the applicants themselves. Previous editions of the ccTLD News Sessions had an excellent collection of case studies, statistics, new developments, trends and more. The ccTLD News Sessions have been a part of the ccNSO Members Meetings for several years and has provided a global platform for both experienced and new people to meet, share experiences and discuss ccTLD-related aspects.
